Although the Dell Streak currently being sold in the UK can already be very easily unlocked with a Rebel SIM so that it can be used on networks other than O2, those not keen on taking the DIY route can now just pay Dell UK to do the unlocking for them.
O2 sells the Streak contract-free for £399 and a Rebel SIM is only £10 (£15 with the SIM cutter you don't really need; a single-hole punch does the same thing), but Dell's £449 asking price (which includes VAT and shipping) isn't too bad, especially compared to what you'd be paying to get the device on eBay.

Is that mean that I can use the unlocked Dell Streak in Belgium whith a belgian phone operator (like Mobistar for instance)?
Thanks for your help!
Whoa a bit pricey, I hope the US release is still $500 USD.
Yeah, it’s been said from Dell themselves that it will be $500 USD, unlocked. Things can always change though… I hope it doesn’t.
its a lot pricey. That will not work in the US (~800$).
the dollar is really strong right now. That’s the reason for the price difference. £449 to USD conversion VS $500 quote from dell.
By next week we may hear about the US version … its July by then.
My prediction: a Foroy surprise.

Err Froyo … sorry was the excitement thinking about that possibility.
