I know that most of you already bought your Dell Streak during the 24-hour presale yesterday, but I would be remiss not to mention that the general sale begins today.
The device can only be purchased from dell.com/mobile right now, so don't bother heading to the AT&T website or your local store this weekend. Other online retailers (e.g., Amazon, Wirefly) are expected to carry the Streak, but their pricing and estimated shipment dates are currently unknown.
As with the presale, the 16GB carbon black Streak is locked to AT&T and can be purchased for $299.99 with a 2-year contract and $549.99 without a contract.
I don't know how many Streaks have been sold so far or whether supply can keep with up with demand, but since most of the units ordered through the presale have already been shipped (mine is being delivered today!), there's a good chance that new orders won't have to wait long before being fulfilled.

i was just going to ask when those stores and at&t would carry the streak.
I received an email from Dell EPP this morning specifically promoting the Dell Streak. I followed the link and EPP aparently gives out 10% off + free 2nd day shipping (including accessories).
For most people this is arguably a much better deal than the pre-sale bonus. 10% off >> 99c bluetooth headset.
Can someone tell me what is the Total price ? Shipping, taxes, etc…
I will go to the USA to buy it and would like to know how much I should bring…
I ordered mine yesterday with next day shipping. Hope it shows up today. Online order still shows in production!
well, with contract my total before tax was $360.96 and that included a spare battery, spare USB cable, as well as the free headset. If you’re getting the headset the presale is definitely a better deal (save $39 instead of $36.09), however if you’re not getting the headset you’ll save $35.97 which is pretty snazzy. I wanted a headset so it worked out.
Stupid tax was almost that much by itself
Yes you’re right, there are factors that would make the pre-sale offer better.
When I wrote the above I was thinking from my perspective where:
1. If I’m buying, I’d buy it full price so the discount is ~$55
2. I already have I think two BT headset I never use. I had only used them while driving and now since my car has this BT connection installed the headset would be just a waste to me
Funny!
I just had an interesting chat with an ATT rep on the website:
———-
Tiffany Ca.: Welcome to AT&T online Sales support. How may I assist you with placing your order today?
ME: Why is the Dell Streak not on your site? it was released today.
Tiffany Ca.: Hi Jason! I will be happy to assist you today!
Tiffany Ca.: We are not currently offering this device through our site.
Me: Is it available in AT&T Stores? I need to see just how big it is before I purchase… Especially at $299
Tiffany Ca.: I do not have any information about this device since it is not offered through our online site.
Tiffany Ca.: You would need to contact your local AT&T store for more information on if it is being offered.
Me: That’s not a surprise with everything else AT&T and Dell did wrong with it’s launch… Oh well Verizon Droid X here I come…
Me: thanks anyway.

I’m not buying the Droid… but I also will not buy a streak sight unseen.
So for me, the Dell waiting game will continue… Lucky me.
Yeh the local AT&T stores don’t gave don’t know when or if they will I refuse to pay $300 for a phone I can’t play with in my own hands first in store. Onto the next device for me!
“I know that most of you already bought your Dell Streak during the 24-hour presale yesterday”
Given the amount of frustration and disappointment expressed, that’s great sarcasm Jenn… (What? You weren’t being sarcastic?)
FYI, for those of you monitoring third party sites for the Streak, one thing you can try is set up a price watch on CamelCamelCamel(.com) for Amazon. If you set it at a price that’s well above what it’s likely to be listed for (like $1000) it should alert you when it “comes in stock” there.
AT&T phone support told me you can go to AT&T stores and Dell Streak is on display. You can see and touch but you can buy it only from Dell.
That’s good to know, I’ll have to check my local brick and mortar
