Here's a little something to lighten the mood around here. According to an Amazon.com product page for the Dell Streak, the "tablet Android phone" that "can only be used with a compatible service plan" belongs to Samsung.
The product details on that page are actually for the Captivate, but the URL, product description, and most of the technical details are clearly about the Streak. Since this suggests that the mistake isn't a simple case of the Captivate page being mislabeled, there's a good chance that Amazon will carry the Streak.
The fact that an Amazon ad shows up in the sponsored links section on "dell streak" search results pages can't be ignored either. Considering how often the mega-retailer sells phones for drastically reduced prices (sometimes even a penny with a new two-year contract), I think this little mix-up shows great promise.

Amzer Super Clear Screen Protector with Cleaning Cloth for Dell Streak – 2 Pack – Price: $24.95
Usually ships within 1 to 4 months.
(These seem to be shipping in the same time frame as the Dell Streak itself.)
FWIW, my wife was looking at these screen protectors for her new Vibrant, and they were saying 1 to 4 months for those as well.
But point taken!
is this some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder, Jenn?
I’m inflicted by the same here, seeing everything with my Streak filter on. Today, I noticed the price of an HD2 has come down more than 30% since initial launch in Oct/Nov last year here in HK.
Considering that we will probably be able to finally buy a Streak 3-4 months after the UK launch in June, I would expect some comparable price reduction.
Wow, I was literally a day or two from giving up and buying a Captivate (I spent some time yesterday shopping around online for one), but this might just cause me to wait a little longer. I’m hoping this page is a recent development and not something that was set up for the supposed July launch and just not noticed until now.
BTW, Dell’s probably happy with the “Samsung” mistake – if my company had botched a release as badly as this, I’d want someone else’s name on it as well.
Engadget is reporting Streak going on sale this Thursday/Friday for $300 with contract.

They’re screwing themselves with that 300 dollar price tag. Even if it had 2.2 or 2.1… it’s a phone, not a tablet. It needs to be 200 to compete. I’m really unsure I’ll get one at this point.
Hey All, check the Engadget website NOW: http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/10/dell-streak-on-sale-august-13-for-300-on-atandt-contract-550-wi/
Dell Streak announced and available for order this Friday, and ATT (about time too)

Yeah.. I was secretly hoping that the previously leaked price of $300 was incorrect and they’ll release at $200 price tag.
I don’t think I am getting one at this price.
Ta daa!

A little bit more to see, including an image and the right company selling it!
