LAPTOP recently created an app to test battery life on Android phones, and guess which device missed the top spot by just a few minutes.
Yep, the Dell Streak outlasted the HTC Incredible, HTC EVO 4G, Motorola Droid 2, and three Samsung Galaxy S variations (AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant, and Sprint Epic 4G) in a repeat-until-dead test of 3G runtime that launched the stock browser to 1 of 60 prechosen websites, remained on the site for a minute before closing the browser, and then relaunched it to the next site on the list. The Streak was only outone by the smaller-screened Droid X, which managed to stay alive for an additional 7 minutes.
Although the device has the largest battery, an extra 30mAh is negligible and doesn't account for the extra screen size (the other phones have screen ranging between 3.7" and 4.3"). So while LAPTOP concludes that "Motorola's doing something right," it's clear that Dell is too.
[LAPTOP] Thanks, Avram!

This also doesnt account for OS type. Streak wouldve killed if it had 2.2…

Ah, another reason I should be sleeping and not posting at 1:30am! Thanks for catching that.
If only Dell releases a bigger battery it will be epic.
If they would’ve measured the luminancy of the devices in such 40% mode it’ll be much more reliable. I don’t think that they are shining equivalently (cause, as example, superamoled doesn’t have the separate touch layer).
Very good point.
