It looks like the wait for Honeycomb-deprived Dell Streak 7 WiFi owners in the US may be over. Based on all the tips that are hitting our inbox right now, it seems that at least some of you out there in the states are joining your European counterparts and helping yourselves to an OTA serving of Android 3.2 right now, two days earlier than expected.
Features of the update, as detailed above, include Honeycomb's holographic user interface, better multi-tasking and navigation, enhanced action/system bar, instant access to all screens, the ever-popular two paned email interface, and better Stage widgets.
If you're not automatically prompted to update, you can check for it manually by tapping Menu > Settings > About > System updates, download the package directly (thanks, Themanii), or visit the official update page from your device (thanks, Chris).
Anyone else now running the official US Honeycomb build on their Streak 7 yet? How's it going so far?

download took about 20 mins on a dsl lite service (1.5MB down). install running now, pop up said it will take 10 mins
Do you know if that’s for everyone in the US or just certain areas? I don’t have my streak with me so I was wondering if there was just a direct upgrade page like the others…..
wow! update package took 3 minutes to load. one reboot and im running the honeycomb wizard as i type this.
(lookout mobile security does keep crashing)
honeycomb itself seems to be running great for me. basics all work (wifi, camera, audio, etc). i was stock, never rooted, or modified.
i did have to remove lookout immediately, it kept force closing. and every “home” screen is blank, will have to set them up from scratch. overall responsiveness is MUCH better as expected. will play with it more tonight, but overall very impressed with the speed of the update.

Has anyone tried loading on a TMobile 4G? Just wondering if the only repercussion is loss of 4G service…

Im in chicago and still no automatic update. Im trying the download links and after downloaded and attempt to install I still get the model mismatch error.
Just got off with T-Mobile who pointed me to Dell’s Tech Support. Dell’s Tech Support claims that some “links” are supposed to be released for 4G versions of the Streak on or about the 7th. I guess I am to stay tuned. (Note: They took my info, referenced a need to reset my warranty and got a mailing address. This almost sounds as if there is a plan to replace my Streak…)
(Another note: I have a “spare” with a broken gorilla glass, so I’m going to power it up and load the WiFi only version for grins and giggles. Since its a paperweight at the moment, it can’t hurt to try and see what happens.)
Are you trying this from a 4G Streak 7? If so, you save me a test.

Gotta say, im happy as a lark so far with this update. its the little things i like, everything is “smoother” now, more real estate per home screen, MUCH better notification bar, boots faster… this is what i expected when I purchased my wifi streak 7 a few months back.
battery life seems about the same, any improvements there are minimal. I stream from TuneIn Radio Pro regularly and within a few hours had to plug the charger back in.
I may factory restore tomorrow and see if that helps the battery life any. Overall very happy.
Not gonna say it was worth the wait (would hate for Dell to read that), but my Streak will be in use MUCH longer now.
I put the update on and do not really care for it. Can someone link me a guide to restore the OEM image? I have a guideStreak 7, it came with android 2.2.

Downloaded the .pkg file for a 2nd time, installed successfully, and is running great!
San Diego CA installed and working. So far I like it, accept can’t get Jetflix or Netflicks to work as yet…:-(
…and well.. it will not shut down. Froze, had to do a hard reset.

I had a problem downloading the update and I found that the Java script on the page wasn’t running. After messing with the browser settings I ended up resetting the settings to default and then the page loaded right. Got the update no problem after that. You might want to try resetting your browser to default. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between GLUNB1A133830 (wifi only) and GLUNB1A334430? Is the latter the T-mobile one?

are you guys able to charge your tablet after update? mine wont charge for some reason….
I live in LA & did the update manually last night. No problems in downloading or installing, didn’t freeze up or hang like some experienced. Came right up and all my data & apps were still there, so I was initially very happy. But then noticed kept getting error msgs when tried to go online or the app market, and angry birds & gmail also crashed. So I did a factory reset and reloaded all my apps and that did the trick. Running beautifully now, dept the text display is so tiny now!!!

My Streak is also an GLUNB1A133830. I purchased mine at Staples back in July when they had the $100 off coupon. Just checked for updates and still nothing.

I also have GLUNB1A133830, purchased at Staples, Wifi model. According to the Streak 7 wiki page here on XDA, 1A1 is a T-mobile 4g US. How can that be? Mine reports build 15799. I also have not received the update notice and have checked through Settings -> About -> System Upgrades, which gets me the ‘ no upgrades at this time.’ Any thoughts from you folks??

Hey guys that have one of those pesky 1A1 models. I have one of those, too. And if you go and look at what is using your battery, the big percentage is cell standby. I really do think that they were meant to be T-Mobile network devices. Anyway, I just downloaded the update from their regular wifi only link posted above in this thread, installed it, and it worked wonderfully. Only issue was that it no longer recognized the apps that I had installed on the SD card. So I uninstalled and reinstalled them. No big deal, right? Now I have the much lovelier UI, and the other benefit is now my battery is not being forever drained by cell standby. I am thrilled on both counts. If you aren’t trying to figure out how to make one of these babies accept your sim card, then I would give it a try.
I updated my Streak 7 wi-fi, using the manual link on top of this page. Update works perfectly,however some applications would not function unless I downloaded them again. All of those were for free, so no worry, but my GPS Navigon US&CA would not work, and I did not like the idea of having to buy another download. Had lot of contact with Navigon techsupport (great support from them). What finally solved the problem was to Clear Data in Manage Application. After that the Navigon app works perfect again.
