If I had to pick what I thought was the best feature of Android, it would definitely be the openness of the platform and the support it gets from developers around the globe. And here at StreakSmart, our favorite developer is DJ_Steve, who has been responsible for getting updates to Dell Streaks before Dell has even confirmed that those updates would be coming.
Thankfully, he's at it again; this time, he's trying to bring Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, to both the Dell Streak 7 and the Dell Streak 5. According to a few tweets off of his Twitter feed (@dmonsterprod,) he's already begun work on ICS for the Dell Streak 7 because he's "…working on Tegra 2 first as it's easier."
Tweets regarding his latest project appeared on his feed about six hours ago, so you can only assume that he's been working really hard to get ICS on the Streak 7 in that time. The first test actually failed, but he seems to have found the problem and one can only assume that he'll have the kinks worked out in no time.

if you really want to help the initiative, donate to DJ_Steve’s paypal account. He’s trying to raise money to upgrade his servers so they can handle the ICS compiling. That would be the biggest help to getting ICS available on the Streak 5, and the streak 7.

Maybe this is a little wish list for DJSteve..
ICS put a dedicated soft button below the screen. And it takes up our screen real estate. Maybe we can use dell streak capacitive button to replace that on screen soft button?
Anyway, if it can be switch..its ok. What can we wish for more..ICS on Dell streak
ics is smart it only shows the onscreen buttons in ‘phone ui’ mode if it doesn find hardware buttons on device, otherwise their hidden

I bought a Dell Streak 7 4G/WiFi Android Tablet Unlocked GSM Worldwide – US Warranty – Good for T-Mobile AT&T and any other GSM Carrier in Amazon.com and I want to know if can I upgrade it to Honeycomb 3.2 and howit. In Dell´s support they said that only wi-fi models are avaliable for upgrade. My Streak is not T-Mobile and is unlocked.

I have the beta 3 version of ICS on my dell streak 7 4g/wifi. I have had the update 2 days now and i do not know if the 4g works or not, sense i do not have a subscription, but only things i find not working are the camera, gps, and its freezes every once in awhile. But, over all it is flat out amazing!!!!!!!

ohh and i can not wait for the full launch or at least beta 4 version with camera and gps fixed. and hopefully somthing done about every now and again freezes. DJ_Steve is my technological superhero!
WOOOT did a little research, which is what i should ahve done before my last posts, and found beta 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!! going to install tonight, will post when i have done a thorough examination (idk if i spelt thorough right or not)
Ok, so yesterday I downloaded and flashed the ICS Beta 4 rom onto my DS7 and it installed just fine. The Boot screen is awesome. i will not spoil it for you if you intend to get the beta yourself. The little bit of lag the beta 3 had is completely gone. The camera still isn’t working, the GPS is fixed, i do not know about the 3g/4g mobile internet because i do not subscribe to any mobile internet. One thing is though, on 2.2.2 i had to have in airplane mode to turn off mobile data, on 4.0.3 there is a on/off switch for it which is cool. So far i have had no freezeing and one reboot, which is better than beta 3 which did it about every 30-45 minutes. So i give this beta a 3/5 because of no camera and still the occasional reboot. yesterday I try to upgrade my streak7 4G to IS….
And yeah… its successfully…
but what i got is my streak7 can’t connect to mobile networks
It becomes streak7 wife only…
And the worse is my camera is not work too…
So I think to downgrade again in to Honeycomb with Dj Steve logo…
Unfortunately I can’t get the link to get the firmware…
Please give me some clue…
I really love my streak7 :’(
