If you're someone who is interested in the design aspect that goes into the HTC EVO, in addition to just the specs, then HTC has a special treat for you: an official "making of" video that showcases the company's efforts in producing the HTC EVO 4G LTE.
However, there's also a little surprise in the video: for just a short moment, the image above flashes across the screen, and the viewer is left wondering what exactly that is. Obviously, it's got dual cameras and a dual LED flash, just like the HTC EVO 3D. But it's also got all of the same design components of the just-announced EVO 4G LTE.
Does this mean that HTC is planning on eventually releasing a successor to the EVO 4G LTE that will include 3D functionality? Is this just one prototype of many that will never be released? Is this HTC's way of dropping us a hint, or was it accidentally included in the video when it should not have been?
Until we hear an official explanation from HTC, your guess is as good as mine.
Update: According to Engadget, HTC has confirmed that this was an early mockup in case Sprint was interested in releasing another 3D EVO. However, it didn't make the cut, so we shouldn't take this as an indication of things to come.
[The Verge] Thanks, Kevin and Will!

I believe it’s intentionally done. It’s going to cause a stir of the 3D fans. The best phone on the market to come up later with a 3D version. If I was a 3D fan, I’d be all over it.
i hope they take the 3D tech like on the EVO 3D which i love, put all the updated tech into it for LTE and a removable battery and we are in business!!
wow, this just got me pretty excited! I hope this is the case, as I would not want to upgrade unless i could still have the ability to view all of my EVO 3D content on the next gen Evo. EVO 3D LTE would be great!!!!
HTC confirmed that it was a protype design in case Sprint andd HTC decided to continue with 3D features, but they decided not to…no plans to produce a 3D version…per Engadget
Thanks, tdesai4! I updated the original article with this new information.
Thank God. Viewing any 3D video from my EVO 3D on anything else looks pretty bad.
it looks like just the reflection of the outside mirrored finished
i meant to say the camera is being reflected
Honestly…I love my EVO3D….just live it.
I’m just waiting for the new 3D.
Thanks for the really good news.
