Some might say that email is dead, but I disagree. I find myself using it more and more, and often for notifications and information transfer as much as normal communication. Email Me is a neat app for Android that gives you a lot more tools to do just that, and helps you use email in new ways.

Email Me is based around the concept of templates for email messages in order to send certain types of emails quickly. There’s also the ability to send email automatically, bypassing the compose screen and doing it all in the background. You can configure which email account to send from, where to send emails, the content, and even attachments.

The email templates can be access in several different ways. You can do it through Android’s Share system (a system for sending information between apps), using shortcuts on the home screen, or – and here comes the reason why I have it – using Tasker. Paired with Notify My Android this app can be used to trigger actions on other Android devices, which can be used to e.g. initiate sync on a second device a few seconds after it finishes on the first device.
