AnthraX has been a name in custom HTC EVO kernels for the past few years, but since breaking away and setting up Anthrax-Kernels.us, now it’s also becoming an exclusive development site for ROMs based off of the kernels. NegaliteBluROM ICS, an Android Ice Cream Sandwich/Sense 3.6 ROM for the HTC EVO 3D, is one of the first two exclusive ROMs being hosted on Chad Goodman’s site to incorporate Anthrax kernel development.
NegaLite-BluRom ICS is a stripped-down, AnthraX-driven, Sense-based ROM based on the Virgin Mobile EVO base. It comes with the Playstation Store Support, XLoud audio, Sony Bravia mods, LeeDroid tweaks, and a host of other options that we’ve come to love in various ROMs.
Although the developer suggests you be S-OFF, you should have no issues with S-ON and 4EXT recovery.
If you’re going to flash a ROM with a custom kernel (or without, for that matter), make sure to make a nandroid backup beforehand. If you’re not S-OFF, you will need either 4EXT recovery, Flash Image GUI, or flashing using Fastboot mode in order to write the kernel data. If you boot up and have no WiFi, your kernel did not flash properly.
It should be interesting to see what all developers become AnthraX-exclusive ROM distributors.

Have the issues with the Virgin Mobile ICS been resolved? I remember hearing a while ago that non-functionality and reverting back were issues.
There were a LOT of issues… the main one was people who installed the radio firmware had serious issues with connectivity and trying to revert back. If you didn’t install the firmware you had a 1 in 5 chance that the firmware/hardware you had would have problems with it.
I never installed the firmware and never had a problem. Some people never installed the firmware but due to a different HW revision had issues. Chad, before all the drama went down, was working on a kernel to fix that. Last I checked that was resolved.
If you make a nandroid, flash the rom and it doesn’t work, just nandroid back. As long as your recovery is functioning properly should be fine.
Just whatever you do, do not flash that old VM firmware.
Got it. Just wasn’t sure if the rom still included the old VM firmware.
Thanks for the help.
wow.. development for the 3d is on fire!!! makes me wish i didnt upgrade!! lte is still so new.. aint really much goin on yet.. we do have s-off!!!!
Honestly, I am happy to finally see the EVO 3D hit its stride with regards to development. I mean, there has always been development, but it seems like it’s really begun to bud with ICS based ROMs.
Now, we’re seeing myriads of ICS Sense ROMs, nearly fully functional ICS AOSP ROMs, Jelly Bean ROMs are starting to take hold. It’s a good time to be an EVO 3D owner.
If i have the 1.5 instead of 1.4 hboot can i still flash this.?
Should be able to – 1.4 is generally where S-OFF occured. If you’re using 4EXT recovery, that doesn’t matter.
noticed that you have to register on that site to get a copy of the Rom. Sucks to me since I don’t have a home isp to use and that is required to download.
Hrmm, next time I’m over I’ll ask about that. Assuming it’s because it incorporates the AnthraX kernel and therefor you have to agree to certain terms
Yep. Like I said in the other thread.
You have register to access anything. You can’t even read the details on stuff from the front page without registering.
