The HTC EVO 3D Car Navigation Kit is an OEM HTC package that allows you to simultaneously charge your EVO 3D and use it in Car Mode for above-dashboard navigation.
In case you haven’t encountered Car Mode before, it’s a mode in which you’re given a few large buttons such as Navigate and Make A Call, and it is extremely useful to navigate with. It basically turns your EVO 3D into a Garmin or TomTom, though with some drawbacks.
These kits usually retail for $42.00 USD, but someone evidently is ready to see them go as they’re available now for $7.99.
Unfortunately, as seems to be the case with most car navigation kits, the camera is blocked by the backing; therefore, you can’t take driving videos or pictures, which I’ve found to be a near-daily desire with mine. However, it’s eight bucks and looks pretty well built, so there’s not a lot of room to complain.
While not explicitly stated on Amazon, since the HTC EVO V 4G is just a rebranded HTC EVO 3D, all our new Virgin Mobile EVO V 4G brothers and sisters can get in on a reasonably priced HTC OEM car mount.
Happy driving!

Going to grab two of these probably. One for each car in our family.
Thanks for the heads up. This is great.
yeah, I loved my 3D car dock when I used the 3D all the time (not this brand)
I’ve read 8 positive reviews various places and 1 negative, let me know how that works for you.
I guess this is as good a place to ask as any – have any EVO 3D owners had trouble with the phone going into car dock mode since Sprint’s ICS upgrade?
I often have to put my phone on the dock 3-4 times before it’ll go into dock mode. Quite annoying, may buy this one for $8 to see if it helps. I think I have a Seido dock now…
Looks like it isn’t just the Car Dock that is on sale, they are also heavily discounting the desktop dock as well: Normally 49.99, going for 17.94.

I was never really impressed with the HTC desktop dock (pretty sure I have one in my pile). $17 still seems a bit steep for it.
Just picked one up. Don’t know how long I will keep my 3D once we get LTE in our area, but it will work for now.
Updated price is now $2.50 !
Could this work with the LTE or would it not fit?
The base will plug in in about the same location, the only question is as to whether the clip on the top will handle it.
The 3D and the 4G LTE are about the same width, but the 3d is a thicker.
Considering it’s evidently now $2.50, might be worth it to check out – use a bit of tape wrapped around the securing arm to thicken it up enough to hold the LTE
Thanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered one… I’ll let you know how it works!
Got mine in the mail on Friday. This thing is nice looking!
As an added bonus, it comes with a dual usb car charger … wasn’t expecting that. I needed a new one anyway!
Sweet!
dual-usb? Rrrr… like on the charger component or is it a pass-through on the dock side?
Actually, it’s $7.49 if you count the shipping. That’s 50 cents less than it was yesterday though.
I’m going to grab two tomorrow if they are still around. I have a couple others things to add to the shopping cart that will boost it over $25 for free shipping for those other things, but can’t right now at work.
Buying now!!!
Grabbed two this morning. That deal really was a steal.
Question. Is there any possibility that my wife’s EVO 4G could fit in one of these? I’d be happy to give her one if I could jury rig it to work.
Pretty sure you could with a Dreml tool. Only problem appears that the USB plug is on the right side, when facing the unit the 4G EVO’s is on the left. So plugging it in would probably be putting the 4G far to the right…
Not sure, don’t have one in my hands… just saw that and thought “wow, cheap!”
I like how you spelled “Dreml” to look like John Freml’s spelling. I’m sure that wasn’t intentional though.
Anyway, I’ll probably just find my wife a universal one for her EVO 4G, when I can. Instead of tearing into a pristine EVO 3D navi kit.
Ha! I didn’t notice that…
not intentional. I own a Dremel.. just typing so much I’m missing the mistakes today
Haha. I’m just busting your chops, Paul.
I own a Dremel too. Useful as heck, they are.
I just got a Vizio 3D tv and it works great with all the videos I’ve shot on my EVO3D, both using MHL and through the USB drive. Not giving this Shooter up for a long time.
In for one. I like my Seido dock a lot better but this will work in my other car.
I’VE had both the car and desk dock and honestly i dont use the desk dock at all just doesnt fit anywhere on my desk. The car desktop ive used rarely up until now but thats due to it not being able to hold my phone with my case on! although the cord and dual usb car charger that comes with the dock is the only car charger ive found that actually charges the phone while i use 4g and google music at the same time most other chargers fall short and barely charge and if they do it quickly drains faster then normal
Only suggestion really is to keep covering the Evo 3D. I like the phone and don’t plan to upgrade any time soon and like to hear new ways to make my phone better. Some info on better camera apps would be great. Is it possible to get ZSL on the phone?
Oops, Posted that on the wrong topic. Hopefully this price stays that way for a few more days, planning an amazon order on Thursday that should have free shipping and want to add this to the order.
