Remember that rumored Galaxy Note on T-Mobile that I complained about last month? Well, it’s now available to purchase from T-Mobile – if you aren’t worried about missing out on its successor that’s going to be released at the end of this month.
T-Mobile is currently selling the 5.3-inch phone/tablet hybrid for $250 on-contract. The price might seem a bit steep for an old device, but remember that it does have a large Super AMOLED Plus HD screen and compatibility with T-Mobile’s blazing fast HSPA+ network.
But while this old phone still offers some great specs, it’s getting old, and Samsung is indeed prepping for the announcement of its successor. We don’t yet know what or how many improvements will be made to the Note II – or if it will even be available on T-Mobile – but my recommendation is still to simply wait and see what is unveiled on August 29.

T-Mobile is in a an awkward space, pricing-wise. If they price the Note below the One S, everyone will buy the Note instead of the flagship HTC device. By putting the Note above $199 price, T-Mobile only has to worry about die-hard phablet lovers detracting sales from the One S.
Why would they care which one sells more? Unless their subsidy/contract with one of the two manufacturers is somehow more advantageous… I doubt it tho. The real question is why it took so long, I’m guessing it was some sort of exclusivity agreement with AT&T. To enthusiasts it’d seem like releasing it this late is a mistake but the average buyer is far less informed about that, I’m sure T-mo ran the numbers and they’re betting it’ll sell well regardless. There’s little chance the new Note will make it stateside in a month, we’re lucky if we see it on any carrier before Thanksgiving.
