The HTC EVO 3D is currently receiving a small application OTA update, which you can download and install right away by heading to Settings > System updates > HTC software update. However, this is not a standard OTA update; your software version will not change and your phone won’t boot into recovery to install this. Instead, it’s an update to the Personalize system application, which is available both in the app drawer and in your settings menu.
Since there is nothing else included with this update, it should be safe to install if you are rooted – you don’t need the stock recovery, and there isn’t anything special like bootloaders or radios.
In fact, as one Good and EVO reader pointed out, “It takes no time to load – even on the 3G network.” And we all know how Sprint’s 3G network has been lately.
At this point, I’m not really noticing much difference in the Personalize app, but do let us know if you see any performance improvements or other miscellaneous enhancements.
Thanks, Jason!

Will give it a try.
Don’t see much chang. But if you care the LTE seems to be waking up on my tri-fi card.(minneapolis)
You are saying you saw LTE light up?
I’m near minneapolis too, where is your general location I want to test some LTE on my Evo LTE already!
My Evo Design 4g’s UI is appearing to be more responsive, than it was when I first upgraded to ICS.
Its good to see the 3d still getting updates. Hopefully JB is the next update.
I agree with Dan. My evo design 4g was a bit buggy when I loaded ICS on it from the update but I haven’t had any problems all day since the update, but that’s a bout it, I think we got a new clock though.
Very interesting. I truly do not expect many updates for the EVO 3D. I believe HTC already phased it out and we will not see anything but maybe a few bug fixes here and there.
Still, it is good to see that they have not killed it off 100%
I don’t see why they would, they just pushed out ICS for it a month or two ago, I doubt they would do that and then give up on it.
Pushing out ICS, I think was the last thing they will do. Jelly Bean will most likely only arrive in ROMs.
Any extra support will be as this one, simple bug fixes.
But I mean, we’ll see. This is just my opinion.
Nice to see updates for the 3D still.
Evo 3D still not left from HTC
Well the details said security updates. So maybe they just patched a security hole that was not ever noticed.
Who knows, I guess we will never know unless someone ever talks.
Tho i now have a htc one x on at&t,i decided id keep my 3d for games cause their in 3D. And for the camera. I did notice that its possible to adjust the zooming even in 3D mode! Pretty sweet if you ask me.
they weren’t kidding when they said small…
anyone know what exactly this did?
The evo 3d is not dead. It’s on virgin mobile and the phone comes.pre loaded with Ics out the box. So there is still life left in this phone.
You are now able.to set your own background for the lock screen.
