Jmz Software has released a product for the HTC EVO 3D and the HTC EVO V 4G that will force your rooted phone into 3D in either portrait or landscape modes.
You might wonder why you would want to do this since Rosie and all of Sense is not in 3D, and the answer is for 3D wallpapers and the rarer 3D icon.
If you’re running a ROM with a landscape Rosie, you can set the application to only go into 3D when in landscape mode and have the wallpaper pop around your icons, or set it to be 3D all the time.
You’ll also need to locate some 3D wallpaper or create your own for this to be truly effective. Unfortunately, setting a 3D photo as wallpaper in Sense has the effect of downsizing it to 2D, so some hoops will have to be jumped through to get this up and working properly.
It’s a bit of an effort, but is kind of neat to slap on in landscape mode. I can’t imagine attempting to use 3D mode on everything, but it does make an impressive display when it’s up.
Jmz EVO 3D 3D Switcher is available free from Google Play with advertising that only shows up when you access the settings. The pay version is available for $0.99.
The name should probably be changed to the Jmz EVO 3D/EVO V 4G 3D switcher, but that’s picking nits… it does what it says it does.

The HTC EVO >>>V<<< 4G is the HTC EVO 3D as sold by carriers other than Sprint… specifically Virgin Mobile. There is no hardware difference.

The ones with * are the same product with different names on different carriers
Basically HTC has done a number on the world by renaming a phone… I don’t know how to describe the conversations I’ve had with people who don’t see the V in what I’ve posted…
Sort of like the CDMA and GSM versions of the EVO 3D are Shooter, and Shooteru… the amounts of confusion is absurd

It’s confused me too.
Hell, I’ve been modding my Evo3D since it’s release and have seen the Evo V reference hundred of times and it STILL catches me sometimes.
I think a possible way to remove some confusion is say Evo V 4G on Virgin Mobile. Since the 4G LTE isn’t on that carrier.

I got into it with someone over at Androplasty who was convinced when I was saying EVO V 4G I was talking about the EVO 4G LTE….
I wonder if we should just start calling it the EVO V, drop the 4G… can’t say it’s Virgin Mobile’s because it’s going to 2 other carriers
