Samsung has begun sending out invites to a New York City press event on October 24, subtitled “The Next Big Thing Is Here.” This, of course, is the tagline found on Samsung’s recent ads for the Galaxy S III. The interesting thing, however, is that the invite clearly features a stylus, one of the Galaxy Note’s biggest selling points. This seems to imply a potential launch event for the eagerly-awaited Galaxy Note II.
There is, of course, a third scenario. Microsoft’s big New York City launch event for Windows 8 is scheduled to take place on October 25, followed immediately by general availability on October 26. This timing suggests that the event could be related Samsung’s upcoming ATIV line of Windows 8 laptops and tablets.
Whatever the announcement is, you can be sure that Pocketables will be covering it. The fun starts on October 24 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern. What do you think it will be?

I agree, it’s gotta be the Note 2.
I’m gonna say the Note II, too. If it’s at all related to Microsoft, maybe there’ll be some compatibility with Windows 8.
Note 2, bleh. I dont like the Note “phablet” concept.

Hope they will make a note 7 or 7.7. That would make more sense.
Obviously, we’ll just have to wait; but, equally obviously, the companies are all gearing up to hopefully create some heavy sales figures during the pre-Christmas buying season.
It would really be great if we could depend on “Big Thing” to have real meaning but admen have long been proponents of hyperbole.
Just maybe as we have the Ativ which is the GS3 for Windows, so they might launch an Ativ Note for Windows.
I would like a 7″ Note, but not expecting that.
definitely the note 2! i don’t think they will release anything else coz they would want attention to be focused on the note 2.

Didn’t the Note II get announced already? To me, it looks like a new tablet (7″ for example) is what this is going to be.
The next big thing is here….wait a minute. Will Samsung be presenting Brock Lesnar on 10/24/12. If so a Galaxy Note II is big enough device that is worthy to cover this event.
