Good and EVO reader Kevin just alerted us to a promotional email he received from Best Buy earlier today, advertising that the HTC EVO 4G LTE will be free today only. This price is apparently good for new customers, contract renewals, and add-a-lines, and both the white and black EVO 4G LTE are available.
The latest EVO is still stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4), although an update to Jelly Bean is expected at some point in the near future. Rumors have been circulating that the Jelly Bean update could come as early as this month, fueled on by tweets from Sprint’s official Twitter account, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
The unactivated price of the EVO 4G LTE is $699.99 – a price no one in his or her right mind should pay. However, you can’t beat free if you’re in the market for a new phone and are eligible for an upgrade. And even though the phone still has Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s arguably still among the top phones currently on the market, even though some believe that it’s been dethroned by the likes of Samsung in recent months.
[Best Buy] Thanks, Kevin!

I finally left my beloved EVO 4G behind and went for the Galaxy S3, thanks to a tempting black friday deal.
I had pre-ordered my EVO way back in May of 2010. Many phones had come my way but I couldnt leave my aging EVO, not even to the EVO 4G LTE. Thankfully my young son will use it as a mini tablet, mp3 player or wi-fi device now.
Dang! Now, are business accounts eligible? Trying to get all my employees on this phone…
Why don’t we have such promotions in Bulgaria T.T
Wonder if price match is available. I got mine on Black Friday. would anybody know if I can get price deferance refunded?
It worked! Took my reciept in to Best Buy last night and got my Money back with, “Price Match Guarantee.” $109 back in my pocket, Thanks POCKATABLES! wouldn’t have know if it wasn’t for your post!
Nice price (zero) but sprint sucks. Unless you live in one of the few areas where you already have LTE this phone might not ever get LTE. Not worth signing another contract. Their 3g is getting worse by the hour in most places around the country.
I think this also shows how bad the EVO 4g LTE has done. The original EVO this time around still cost $199.99(subsidized). I know this because I bought mine Dec. 26th 2010.
Check this out go to the HTC site and see if you can find the EVO LTE? I did not…..
It is still there somehow I went some page that did not …
I agree sprints lack of lte destroyed there phones and HTC lack of support made it worse for the EVO line
My 3g has gotten a lot better. They sent me a notice in the mail saying how a service upgrade was happening in my area. Now I get anywhere from 3-4 mbps on 3g LTE 15-20 Mbps. And no problems everyone eles is having phone is perfect. I can wait for jb bc I’m not having any issues.:):)
Thanks for the heads-up!
Looking like this Site is going to have to be changed to a Samsung Site lol. HURRY UP HTC! TICK TOCK WATCH YOUR CONSUMERS WALK!
i’m worried about this evo site…
