Sprint to offer two Windows Phone 8 devices “by summer”

Sprint Logo - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Sprint has announced during CES that it will start offering two Windows Phone 8 devices “by summer.” Both Samsung and HTC are on board, promising to release one device each.

When Microsoft and its partners launched Windows Phone 8 last fall, they did so on three networks in the US: AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Sprint, however, was left off the list. Network representatives later promised to start selling the devices in 2013, but customers were left wondering just how long they’d have to wait. Apparently, less than six months.

Unfortunately, the 500-word press release contains very few details, aside from the rough release window and which manufacturers are involved. If I had to guess, Sprint customers will likely be able to choose between the Windows Phone 8X by HTC and the newly-announced Samsung ATIV Odyssey. Especially since both devices are already available on Verizon. Of course, Samsung and HTC could always surprise us with new device announcements.
