Sense 4.1 on an HTC EVO 3DYAS4 stands for “Yet Another Sense 4.1 Rom” for the HTC EVO 3D (with working 3D camera, to be clear). Based on Android 4.0.3 and Sense, the ROM breathes new life into a device that was officially abandoned at Sense 3.6.

While later versions of Android have been released that function amazingly on the EVO 3D, none of them have had the ability to utilize the EVO 3D’s dual cameras, which is what many of us actually purchased the phone for in the first place.

The ROM comes with an Aroma installer, which means that options may read like a choose-your-own-adventure book. Among the features it has and you can choose from are Stock or Howpathetic Kernel, Sony Xloud, Sony Bravia Engine, and “bloat” or “no bloat”.

The current buglist includes the 3D gallery, which means that although you can take the photos with the working 3D camera, you might not be able to view them with the stock gallery. It appears Google Play has a few apps that might take care of that, or if you wait a bit the developers might be able to get this working.

I’ll point out at the moment that I have not had a chance to lay my hands on this ROM, since my EVO 3D (and one of my EVO 4Gs) are missing and presumed lost in a pile of baby toys, but I’ll be playing with it later. For now, head over to the development thread, make a nandroid backup of your current ROM, give it a while, see if it works for you, and let us know.
