Poll results: Over half of respondents are currently running Android 4.4 KitKat
Earlier today, Google released the latest version of its Android distribution numbers, marking the first time that Android 4.4 KitKat has appeared on the list. While it’s still early, KitKat currently only makes up 1.1% of all Android installs, while Jelly Bean continues to lead the pack with a combined total of 54.5% between Android 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3.
For what it’s worth, Ice Cream Sandwich has 18.6%, Honeycomb has 0.1%, Gingerbread has 24.1%, and Froyo has 1.6%. But how do Pocketables readers stack up?
We recently asked you whether or not you are currently running KitKat on your Android device, and a whopping 52.8% of you said that you were currently running Android 4.4 on your device, either from an official OTA update, a factory image flash, or a custom ROM. That’s pretty awesome.
30.6% of you said that you’re still waiting for an update to come, while 12.07% said that your phone is probably too old to get KitKat (how sad!).
In any case, this just proves what we here at Pocketables already knew: we have a mighty fine, tech savvy readership base – and we’re proud of it, too.
