Does anyone know how to pry the thing apart after removing the two visible screws in the battery bay?

VAIO P13 got dissected at umpcfever.com. It's the basic model with 1.33GHz CPU and 60GB HDD.
Because here in SE Asia the VAIO P is not available with HSDPA and GPS option, the mini PCI-Express slot and SIM-Card holder is missing. Anyway, watching pics of dissected devices is always interesting. |

Hello!
Here is another disassembly manual. Looks very easy. Sorry it's in Japanese. Click at pictures to zoom. |

yes. you remove the silver pads at the front of the keyboard. there are 2 screws under there. when they are removed, you can slide the keyboard unit forward amd remove it.

Hi.
Had someone already tried to replace the Harddrive with a SSD? I'm not shure if Sony using a standard ZIF-Connector and maybe if a 1.8" SSD from, let's say RunCore, or a similar device will fit and work. |

I just can't remove the keyboard on my Vaio P. The only places that I can start to remove is in the corners where the screws sat but I can't get more than 1 cm before it gets stuck. Anyone that have a more detailed desricption on how to remove the keyboard?
EDIT: I got it open at the front but around the corners on the short sides seems impossible. If i try to lift the keyboard up the motherboard and everything inside comes along. I would be really thankful if someone could give me some pointers Last edited by Haineko; 03-19-2009 at 10:44 AM. |
