Willcom D4 unboxing video

The Willcom D4 UMPC I ordered from Conics.net will be shipped on Tuesday (7/22), so while I camp out near my mailbox for it to arrive, I'll be watching this new unboxing video Brett put up while installing English Vista on my unit.



If all goes as planned and there are no delays in customs, the D4 should be in my hands by the end of the week!

My only concern is the length of the device. I can't wait to see a picture comparison with some other devices...

The D4 does look a bit wide. I wonder how it compares to the OQO.

Here are his basic thoughts on the unit:
(1) Short battery life (claimed: 1.5 hours, measured: about 1 hour)
(2) When not locked, it easily starts up even when something touches the screen by accident.
(3) Its surface quickly becomes dirty with fingerprints.
(4) The cooler fan is noisier than expected.
(5) You can't operate the D4 while wearing one of the standard-length straps available on the market.
(6) The location of the mouse button on the left makes it difficult to press when using the keyboard.
(7) The optional Bluetooth handset seems to be required to quickly answer incoming calls.
(8) It becomes so hot that your hands or your desk also get hot.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind that it's a keeper. Hmmm....maybe you have already made room in your purse for it ? It's like those heartbreaking stories of prospective adoptive parents who fix up a new room for baby only to be denied in the end...heart breaking. I wouldn't want to see the "Jenn breaks downs and is institutionalized" video...LOL
