Default YouTube on Sony tablet p

Am I the only one who can't get the YouTube app to work? It crashes before it gets a chance to open every single time.

The site loads up fine in the browser but the videos are stuck between the screens.

I thought it was strange that YouTube wasn't already loaded when I first turned it on, and now I know why. It doesn't work! It could be pretty damn awesome on the two screens.

Insert sad panda here.

No, it never worked for me either. I uninstalled after awhile.

You would think that working YouTube would be one of the app priorities when Sony was building their software.

Haha, so today I saw the Sony Tablet P corner in the electronic shop. I was trying to buy a replacement cover and I noticed that there was an ad where you see kids using the YouTube app. So, I tried to install it on the display, but of course it force closes... I just thought this is false advertisement....

That is totally false advertisement! Misleading customers is not the way to run a business.

I hope the problem is fixed soon but I have my doubts since it's been broken for months for people in other countries. What is the problem? Maybe someone smarter than me can edit the file and put out a modified apk for us that works?

Here's a "solution" in Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...outubeshortcut

It's actually just a shortcut to the mobile version of the Japanese YouTube site (so you're better off just making your own shortcut to the US site), but at least it's something. It's from the same developer who released the other two Tablet P-specific apps, so I thought it was worth a mention.

Please check out the recent thread I created (now a sticky) about a solution, perfect for the 3.2.x since YouTube doesn't come with it. But if you have 4.0, and since YouTube comes w/ it, you cannot install the apk that I mentioned in the other thread, unless you use root uninstaller (which then means you have to root it first). However, I find the 4.0 YouTube app not too bad (although look and feel I prefer the split screen design), I haven't done so myself. (that I have recently upgraded from 3.2 to 4.0).
