Default Bluetooth tethering for web surfing?

So, anyone have the steps needed to tether a cell phone to a mini notebook? I want to use my data plan on the cell phone on a mini notebook to surf the web. Also is it easy to select the bluetooth connection over the wifi connection? How many steps does it take to start surfing?

My cell phone is CDMA (USCellular), with no sim card.

What settings do I need? etc.

I will be tethering a BB Pearl to a Raon Everon Note.

Here is a generic set of instructions:

http://mobileoffice.about.com/od/typ...toothphone.htm

The bottom line is you will need to 1) Pair the devices, 2) Establish a Dial Up Networking Connection and 3) Enter you account info and start surfing.

That is just for the first time. Subsequent connections will just be a matter of clicking on the DUN connection (put it on your desktop) and connecting.

What kind of plan do you have as surfing can eat up $$$$ quickly if not unlimited.

Thanks for the info on tethering.
So I will need a phone number for ISP? Is that my phone number or do I need a number for blackberry service or UScellular?

We have unlimited data plan.

You need to get the dial-in, login, and password information from your carrier to connect. I would search their site and the web in general.

Most of the newer Windows Mobile phones use Bluetooth PAN for tethering, which is so much easier than the older DUN method. I'm not sure if the BlackBerry line supports this or not, it may still be using DUN.

They may not. With AT&T you have to have a specific tethering account to do it.

Well, still looking into it. Seems if its not used to excess they don't care. Not sure if they have a seperate tether account.
