Gang,
Was just surfing the net and found this: http://ubertablet.blogspot.com/2010/...l#UMPC%20#Viiv It was just posted today, in fact I think just a few hours ago. Is this for real? I saw the EC S5 054 file from myviliv.com, but it didn't have the HID drivers. The blog I have mentioned above has the drivers already... Any takers? |

I just finished installing it, and yes it did work. The thing I noticed is the driver isn't signed. I'm not sure if it really came from Yukyung or Viliv. Flicks here we go!!!

it seems Ok,.. BUT I cant reach the top of the screen or the far left, it don't matter how I try to calibrate the thing I'm missing a few pixels on the top and left side, for example I cant press the min-max-close buttons if I pressed them the touchscreen registers some pixels below.

Doesn't seem to be working for me. The install seems to go correctly and I can see the HID Touch driver in the Control Panel, but the touch control panel isn't available and the device doesn't seem to be registering any clicks. Anyone else having this problem?

@Drachen
Update of ec to v054 is mandatory for use of HID driver. |

I have the non-3G version. I updated to v022. According to the support site, it should be HID-compliant as well. I'd be more than a little reticent to update with the 3G version.

@ Phenom - Yes, you can do flicks in Windows Explorer, IE, etc...
@sillcharde - I also noticed this, when I try to drag around a small window, it always stops short of reaching the bottom of the screen. Another thing I noticed is that the touchscreen is not so sensitive anymore, I have to give more effort in pressing stuff using my fingers, unlike before. Is there a way of increasing the sensitivity? We're getting there, let's just hope Viliv releases an official one. The ones in the blog aren't signed drivers. |

Does it mean that us with non 3G S5 have to wait more time? I tried to install the .inf file as instructed on Hugo's site, but Windows won't let me. As soon as I select the inf file and press OK, just a error sound and the window won't close. I have the v022 EC already installed.
I guess I should wait a little longer, unless one people with the non 3g has a success history and tell us what he/she did. Thank you for your help. gb |

Ok, I've been running these new drivers whole day and can confirm most of the findings and add one quite worrying one:
-generally speaking it is nice to have real touch drivers -touch usage on top of the screen has small issues -lots of sensitivity is lost - sometimes you really have to press the screen firmly -under heavy load and after running for quite long period, I got kind of freeze. In event viewer there were event id 13 (acpi): Quote:
@estuardo4 Are you sure that your .inf file is not accidentally saved as text file (.inf.txt) when you dowloaded it? Last edited by ekonttan; 02-26-2010 at 06:54 AM. |

It is really strange. But if I am the only one with this problem, using the v022 EC, do you recommend to install the v054 EC? Do you have the non 3G S5? Thank you for your help. gb |

1) intall EC v.022 (make sure you dont have errors) 2) after restart download Mr Hugo's driver link above ( 3 files total ) save to a folder. Remember files extension need to be one .inf and two .sys 3) uninstall PS2 driver from device manager (delete driver option) 3)after restart windows will install standard ps2 driver and restart again 3) go to device manager and right click PS2 and update 3.a) Browse.... 3.b)Let me pick.... 3.c)have disck.... 3.d)browse to folder where you have and select HIDTouch.inf 3.e) when a warning appears select install anyway 4) restart computer Thats it your done. Enjoy. Thanks to all who contributed to this. ________ Starcraft replays upload Last edited by DrJr; 04-10-2011 at 03:18 PM. |
