I'm trying to see if Ubuntu will run on the Aigo. Here is some early pictures of Ubuntu trying to start. Also when restart the Aigo and have something plugged into the USB, I noticed that at the bottom it showed BIOS, and had some, I think boot option. But since I wasn't really looking for it I didn't get a chance to look at it clearly. I will check it more next time. Maybe I will try to load XP using nLite onto a USB drive and make that to be bootable then I can see if XP will load before trying to fdisk the drive in the Aigo.

@ JD: You can always get the Gigabyte M528 instead. Virtually identical to the Aigo but $685, available in the US, and built-in HSDPA!

@nadja, so far bluetooth, miniSD, USB, mouse, and the CPU shows up in the hardware using Ubuntu. I think I remember seeing something about a VIA for the Wi-Fi in the Aigo, so running on the Aigo and that one actually shows something about touch screen. I haven't had much time because I also got my Kohjinsha SC3 and been setting it up for my work machine. I actually already tried to load XP on it but it stops when it starts to look for a hard drive. I need to see how to make a backup of the OS before I fdisk and deletet everything.

I was interested in the cheap price too. It seems like th price on that page changes daily.
It's at $760 right now, but when I checked it yesterday it said $810. Back to the ubuntu topic, I've made a couple of custom livecd's for the clarionmind, which is similar to this device. http://mindbuntu.blogspot.com They are on there. I suggest trying the LITE version. I don't know if they will work, but it should. |
