El Shaddai hopefully to visually grace Android and HTC EVOs in the near future

ElShaddaiBanner This is still in the rumor mill, but Famitsu has released news that Ignition Entertainment's visually stunning art piece El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron should be making its jump to Android and hopefully HTC EVOs in the future.

Ignition Entertainment, creators of games such as Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Arc Rise Fantasia, teamed up with Takeyasu Sawaki, who was a character designer for Devil May Cry and Ōkami, to create El Shaddai.

The games premise is inspired by the Book of Enoch and follows Enoch as he seeks seven fallen angels to prevent a flood from destroying all of mankind. Enoch sets out in what has to be one of the most ethereal and beautifully animated games in the past five years that has garnered awards and really makes people question whether games can be art.

While there are only two screenshots that have been leaked so far, the game's primary 2D side-scrolling action is a good fit for mobile devices and hopefully they are planning to leverage the power of the newer EVOs such as the 3D to render the 3D fight sequences to really bring the console gaming feel to the handheld scene.

No release date or price has been announced as of yet, but it is one to keep your eyes on for the future.

Check out this game in action in the video below, which features gameplay from the Playstation 3 version.
