Sand the back of your HTC EVO 4G LTE to reveal what’s underneath

The Android community in general has a reputation for being a free-spirited, DIY, tinkering group that is never really satisfied with stock anything. I’d argue that this is especially true among the HTC EVO fan-base, and G&E readers in particular. And that’s why I wanted to share this with you as soon as I saw this in our tip inbox.

One very brave (or foolish) HTC EVO 4G LTE owner decided to sand the entire back side of his new phone from the kickstand down, revealing the grey aluminum back underneath the black matte finish. Now I’ve already seen some photos around the web from people who have sanded the removable black plate so that it matches the rest of the phone a bit more, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone do this.

And I have to admit: I like it. A lot. That doesn’t mean I’ll do it to my own EVO, but I have to give this guy props where props are due.

If you decide to do some crazy-awesome hardware mods on your own EVO 4G LTE, be sure to let us know: we may even feature you on the site!
