Office Depot, GameStop leak updated ASUS Google Nexus 7 prices

nex7 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Unfortunately, Google had to cancel today’s New York event due to Hurricane Sandy. So while all of us will have to wait a little while longer to see any official confirmations about what the company was planning to announce, at least we’ve got rumors to whet our appetite for new gadgets and software.

Office Depot and GameStop, two US retailers of office supplies and video games, respectively, have accidentally leaked the updated ASUS Google Nexus 7’s prices. As rumored, the two new WiFi-only models will start at the same price points that the current model does, but will have doubled capacities for each price; in other words, $199 will get you the 16GB model, and $249 will get you 32GB.

Office Depot currently has these new models available for purchase in-stores – after all, Google was likely planning to officially announce the updated tablets today. GameStop also has the 16GB model for sale through its website at the new $199 price. If you want either tablet at the yet-to-be-official prices, I suggest heading over to your local Office Depot or pointing your browser to GameStop.com and seeing if they have any more in stock.
