Apple sells 3 million fourth-generation iPads, iPad minis

sales - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Apple today announced the opening weekend sales numbers for its brand-new iPad models, including the 7.9-inch iPad mini.

Combining both the fourth-generation iPad and new iPad mini, Apple says that this weekend saw over three million sales. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t stated how many of each model was sold.

Like with every sales release, Apple’s CEO had something to say about them:

Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad. We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We’re working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.

Strangely, Cook says that Apple “practically sold out of iPad minis,” versus Apple’s usual “complete” sell out of all launching devices. Of course, the WiFi mini took a while longer to sell out when compared to previous Apple iDevices.

Did you get one (or more) of the three million devices that were sold this weekend? If so, tell us!
