Deal alert: ASUS Nexus 7 32GB on sale for $230 with free shipping and no tax

The holidays may be over, but as has often been said, now is a good time to buy yourself a few gifts. Technology tends to get cheaper after the holidays, especially big ticket items like televisions and sometimes computers. Tablets don’t usually drop as much, but while the ASUS Nexus 7 has gone on sale at slightly lower prices before, today’s price can’t be beat for one of the best 7-inch tablets on the market.

Through eBay’s daily deals, a brand new Nexus 7 can be yours for the sum of $230, which is a mere $20 off of the regular sale price from Google Play. However, shipping is free to the 48 continental states, and sales tax should not apply in any state other than New Jersey. As I found out when buying the Nexus 4, the mandatory two-day shipping and sales tax costs can quickly add to the price of a device from Google Play.

Especially when considering that the Nexus 7 has been listed as sold out and is now said to be “shipping soon…in one week” from Google Play, this deal becomes even better. As such, if you are still on the fence about the Nexus 7, I can readily suggest this deal. I’ve even purchased one myself to replace my 8GB tablet, since the extra storage is definitely worth it.
