D.I.R.T y MAC kernel released for HTC EVO 4G LTE

Kernel - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

The D.I.R.T y MAC kernel is an Android 4.2.x kernel for AOSP-based ROMs. HTC Sense-users, this is not for you, as you’ll get screen tearing and WiFi issues.

It features Sweep2Wake and Google’s snappy zram compression, is Linaro -O3 optimized, and includes tons of CPU goverors, USB OTG, and more features than you can shake a stick at.

It’s in the first release candidate stages, so there may be some issues popping up for which you’ll be the guinea pig, but hours after its initial release there are no reported explosions.

Be sure to make a nandroid backup before you install the kernel, just in case it doesn’t play well with your current ROM and settings. I had to restore mine when I caught on that it was a 4.2.x as opposed to a 4.1 kernel. It worked fine, other than no WiFi and some screen glitches on boot.

If you’re running some AOSP or AOKP, go ahead and give it a try to see if it works for you. I’m unfortunately having to use my phone as a phone today (stuck on a Sense ROM for the day), so I’m unable to properly play with this, but D.I.R.T. generally releases some pretty decent products. Let us know if it does or doesn’t play nice with your phone.
