HTC One now available in gold

Gold HTC One

If you’re envious of your iPhone-carrying friends with gold phones, but the 18-carat gold HTC One was a little too expensive for you at $4400 (and a little difficult to obtain, since only five were made), then you’re in luck. HTC has just announced that the HTC One is now available in gold, although we’re only talking about a color now – not a precious metal.

This is the fifth color from which consumers can now choose. Others color variants are silver, black, blue and red. The specs haven’t changed in the gold version, either, as the device still has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 4MP UltraPixel camera.

As some have pointed out, HTC is yet again late to the game, since the iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy S4 both have gold editions, although Samsung’s has a very limited availability. As for us in the US, the gold HTC One is only available in Europe initially, so you’ll have to get a little creative if you want to get your hands on one.
