Google offers two new tablets, one new phone, and new accessories and holiday promotions in the Google Play Store

Today must have been a busy day for the Play Store elves, as Google is now offering several new products and promotions that you’ll definitely want to check out. Since the time for holiday shopping is limited, let’s get right down to business.

White Nexus 7

white nexus 7

Who doesn’t love our gadgets to be in white? After all, black is so passé. Perhaps in response to the popularity of both the Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 by LG in white, Google has gotten its Nexus 7 partner, ASUS, to jump on the bandwagon as well.

A white 2013 Nexus 7 is available for order right now on the Play Store, with an expected shipping time of 1-2 days. However, there’s one caveat: it’s available only in the 32GB WiFi variation, so those of you who need LTE or who want less storage are out of luck. Still, it’s a Nexus 7. In white. This only happened once to the 2012 edition, and it was a limited edition that wasn’t even sold in the Play Store or other retail outlets, but rather given to Google I/O attendees.

There’s no telling how long this will last: it could be a limited edition product like the white Nexus 4, or it could be a permanent fixture like the white Nexus 5. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Nexus 7 folio in black or red

Along with the white Nexus 7, Google is offering a new Folio case with an open-back bumper style and a dual-fold cover on top. The screen cover can be folded up on the side to prop the tablet up in a couple different angles, just like many covers in this style. This isn’t cheap, though, at $49.99 plus shipping and tax.

Google is now also selling two new colors of the Nexus 7 Sleeve, which is officially compatible with both the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7. It’s now available in yellow and grey, whereas previously it was only sold in black. This costs $29.99, a bit more reasonable than the folio.

$35 holiday offer

Play Store holiday offer

Last but not least, Google is offering anyone who buys a Nexus 7 and  a Chromecast together a $35 Google Play credit, plus free shipping. The Nexus 7 can be any configuration that’s available (16GB, 32GB, WiFi only, or LTE). Both devices are already extremely great values (I’m speaking from experience here), so this offer only sweetens an already good deal.
