Toshiba Chromebook on Amazon

We’ve been waiting for this thing for way too long, but the time has finally come: Toshiba’s first Chromebook, which was officially unveiled at CES 2014, is now on sale. It starts at $279.99 on Amazon and is the same price on MicroCenter’s website, although Amazon is now showing a shipping delay of 2-4 weeks. (In my experience, Amazon overestimates those types of things to be on the safe side, but there are enough horror stories out there about long Amazon waits that you shouldn’t take me at my word on this.)

If you happen to be in the UK, you can preorder the Toshiba Chromebook for £249 on Amazon. It will be released there on February 10.

While not a revolutionary device by any means, it’s still a nice package at a very reasonable cost: It comes with an Intel Celeron 2955U processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, 2GB DDR3 RAM, a 16GB SSD, 13.3-inch screen, and a 9-hour battery life.

[OMG! Chrome!]
