Google: Let’s put a microphone in a product and not tell anyone about it

If you’re the owner of a Nest Guard, I’m betting you’re probably about to be a member of a class action suit against Google as your device not only could control your security system, it also had a microphone capable of listening in on you they did not disclose.

Google announced early Feb that the Nest Guard was getting Assistant integration meaning you could operate it like a Google Home, but they evidently never listed that the device had a microphone on any of the specs or features of it.

Did I do that - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

According to the googs, the microphone has never been on and was included originally for future functionality like a glass break sensor down the road.

Whether anyone managed to hack the Nest Guard or not, it’s problematic.
