Mobile World Congress cancelled due to viral fears

Mobile World Congress, the trade show/mobile phone release orgy that happens once a year in Barcelona, is cancelled after multiple large companies and attendees pulled out due to fears of the Novel Coronavirus / COVID-19.

This has left PR companies scrambling to come up with other routes to get the attention of every tech blogger in existence. Side note: we’re accepting bribes here at Pocketables for phone coverage this month only to pay for my new alternator.

MWC has been going since 2006, so if you had a 14-year streak in your bracket, you’ve won the office pool.

MWC is expected to be back in 2021.
