Formerly only in the domain of the Plex Pass, the live TV feature is available for trial in Plex until the end of June. Unfortunately this doesn’t mean you can see live TV if you don’t have an OT converter like an HDHomeRun.
The entire experience DVR/Guide/etc supposedly has been rebuilt from the ground up, so if you’ve been disappointed in the past you might want to give it another look-see.
DVR function will still require a Plex Pass, but man is it worth it if you’ve got a computer that’s on non-stop anywhere. Auto cutting commercials, watching whenever I want, it makes over-the-air TV useful.
There’s a list of officially supported tuners and antennas on the source link below, so if you’ve got one collecting dust, really, over the air is so much higher quality than streaming in most cases.
I’ll have to give the app a go again, I’ve been using the Roku app which doesn’t really look or feel particularly different, but then again I mostly DVR and watch processed shows sans commercials.[Plex]
